Sharks are mysterious, funny, and sometimes scary creatures, so it is no surprise that there is a surplus of shark-related movies and characters in today’s modern media! Here are a few of my favorites!

Bruce! A classic shark who lived rent-free in all of us 2000s kids’ heads. Funny, hungry, and a little off, everyone loved Bruce and his “fish are friends, and not food” motto, even when he forgot his one guiding principle.

Taylor Lautner in what I feel is his most iconic role to date; hot-headed and impatient, SharkBoy was stranded at sea and was raised by sharks; eventually gaining some of their attributes and attitudes. Was this movie a feverdream? Yes. When I see spiked hair, can I only ever think of SharkBoy? Also yes.

Nanaue was most recently featured in the 2021 Suicide Squad 2, as a lovingly funny and silly protagonist. King Shark is a villain and an anti-hero from the DC Universe, and his opposing heroes are mostly Superman and Aquaman. But honestly, just look at that face! How can something so cute be so evil?

Lovable Lenny, the Great White Shark, who wouldn’t. Without Lenny, this movie wouldn’t exist. Breaking stereotypes, one fish after another, Lenny must be on Bruce’s vision board for veganism. Not once did Lenny break his no fish streak, but he managed to make some friends along the way, even if they did think he was a dolphin.
